John G. CastilloJohn G. Castillo Jr., passed away October 5, 2011. He was born July 26, 1952 to Juan and Esperanza Castillo in Ogden, Utah. John graduated from Ogden City Schools. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War, where he earned a United States Diploma for machinist. He worked for Southern Pacific Railroad for 13 years as a Diesel Mechanic. John married Margaret Gonzales and from that union was born 3 daughters. They were later divorced. He then married his longtime girlfriend Karen Jackson. John is survived by his wife Karen, daughters Leslie Cano, Alina (Daniel) Gallegos, Loni Morgan, eight grandchildren, his father Juan, brother Adolpho (Tina) Castillo, sisters Linda (Robert) Garcia, Olga (Miguel) Luna and Marina (Lee) Balderaz.He was preceded in death by his mother Esperanza, may they both rest in peace. The family wishes to thank the staff at the George E. Wahlen Veterans living facility, the Hospice of Utah, and a special thanks to Autumn and Andrew. Graveside services for John will be held Monday, October 10, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Ogden City Cemetery 1875 Monroe Blvd, Ogden. A viewing will be held Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services also at the mortuary. Rosary will be held Saturday at 8:00 p.m. following the viewing. In lieu of flowers donations would be appreciated, accepted at Leavitts Mortuary.
