John E. Mercer, 67, passed away February 22, 2016. He was born January 17, 1949 to Harold and Mildred Mercer in Marietta, Ohio. John attended Bonneville High School in 1967. He later married Alice. John worked at Southern & Union Pacific for 42 years as a car inspector. He volunteered as a fireman for North View Fire Department. He loved old cars and car shows. Bear and Itty Bitty were his pride and joy, along with his children and grandchildren. John is survived by his wife, Alice; sons, Brad (Grace) Mercer, George (Charite) Warren; daughter, Tammy (Monte) McCloy; sister, Maryann; he also had seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter. Graveside Services will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah.
