John Richard Oliver, 49, passed away peacefully in his home on June 9th, 2016, surrounded by loved ones.
He was born on April 28th, 1967 in Ogden, Utah to John Oliver and Francis Oliver.
Having followed his dreams, he worked as both a licensed barber and as a professional musician in the years preceding his illness.
Rich was always a kind and selfless man.
He always strived to protect and care for those who were closest to him, putting the needs of others before his own. He reveled in the beauty of life and its infinite possibilities, and saw the magic in all things. A constant dreamer, his wanderlust was insatiable, and he saw no limits on how his adventures would unfold.
Because of his wealth of unique and insightful experiences, to many, he was a sage, dispensing invaluable wisdom to any who were willing to seek it.
He was an artist who pursued his passions relentlessly, often pushing his own emotional boundaries in order to fully experience every moment.
He was a strong, diligent worker who always followed through on his goals, even when falling on hard times.
Above all else, he was a husband and he was a father, and he loved his family more than anything.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa Oliver; his two sons, Daniel Oliver and Michael Oliver; his parents, John Oliver and Francis Oliver; and his siblings, Pam Gift, Carol Steiner, Lee Oliver, and Eldon Oliver.
He has touched many lives, and he is forever loved.
