John Stoker-Davis Porter returned to his Heavenly Father on July 6, 2011. During Johns lifetime his love of life and compassion for his fellow man touched the hearts of all he met. He was born on March 21, 1984, in Fresno, California, son of James William and Lori Alaine Abbott Porter. He was a 2002 graduate of Northridge High School in Layton, earned his associates degree at Weber State University, and completed additional military training and education with honors. He married his High School sweetheart Kelly Marie Wainscott Porter in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple on May 5, 2007 where they were sealed for time and all eternity. He was a loving and dedicated husband. He had the privilege of spending ten tender years with Kelly on this earth. John was an active member of the LDS church and served a mission in Utica, New York. He played football in High School, participated in theater and was a gifted artist and craftsman. John enjoyed being physically fit and was an avid outdoorsman who had a passion for guns and target shooting. John had a love of life, took on every challenge head first, followed his own strong sense of honor, was very outgoing and engaging, curious about life, had a wry sense of humor, was loved by everyone around him, and enjoyed his life to the fullest.
