Obituary

Jonathan Matthew Baraloto

Jonathan Matthew Baraloto went to be with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on October 6, 2026, in Ogden, Utah. He was 21.

Born April 20, 2005, in Baltimore County, Maryland, to Christen Darlene Winkler Baraloto and Derek Jason Baraloto, Jonathan was a smart and funny child who delighted his parents and all who knew him. Jonathan moved to Ogden, Utah with his father, Derek and oldest brother, Ethan when he was 11 years old and quickly adjusted to life out west. An inquisitive child, he loved to take things apart to see how they worked. From toys, to video game consoles, to his brand-new bike, if it had moving parts, it was only a matter of time on how long it remained in once piece. His family laughed and shook their heads regarding this habit of “disassembling” his personal possessions, but it eventually led Johnny, as his family called him, to pursue a career in automotives. Johnny had just completed a two-year program at the Clearfield Job Corps and where he gained industry knowledge and ASE certifications as a certified Toyota Technician. He was a bright student and caught on quickly in his classes. He wrote down everything his instructors said and filled his notebooks with notes he took in class. His instructors noticed his work ethic, and during his last semester, he was selected to be the teacher’s assistant, due to his hard work and positive attitude. At home, Johnny was always ready to lend a hand to his family when needed. Whether his dad needed assistance crawling on the roof to make a repair, or hang Christmas lights, to assemble a smoker, cut down a tree, help build a backyard garden, relocate a preying mantis, or any other household chore, his family could count on Johnny to roll up his sleeves. He was a happy, thoughtful, and sensitive soul, and while we on earth have lost his light, Heaven was happy to receive him.

Jonathan is survived by his mother, Christen Darlene Winkler Baraloto of Baltimore County, Maryland; his father, Derek Jason Baraloto of Ogden, Utah; brothers Ethan Michael Baraloto of Ogden, Utah, and Kyle Alexander Baraloto of Baltimore, Maryland; sister, Josephina “Josie” Marie Baraloto of Baltimore County, Maryland; grandfather, David Salavatore Baraloto of Ogden, Utah; uncles David Scott Baraloto of Littleton, Colorado, and James Ryan Baraloto of Baltimore County, Maryland; and cousins Justin and Kayla Baraloto of Littleton, Colorado.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Nancy Ellen Tutor Baraloto of Baltimore County, Maryland and his grandfather, Lawrence Winkler of Baltimore County, Maryland.

Leavitt’s Mortuary in Ogden, Utah is coordinating with Dulaney Valley Memorial Park in Cockeysville, Maryland which will be Jonathan’s final resting place.

Jonathan’s unexpected passing is an unimaginable loss for his family, friends, and loved ones. His father’s description of Jonathan’s life is perfectly summed up as, “Our blessing of 21 years.” Rest In Peace, in the arms of Jesus, Beloved Son.
