Jonnie R. Fenstermaker passed away the morning of January 16, 2018 in her sleep. Weighing in at two pounds, born to Oleta Jamison Johnston and Clarence Johnston, you were a fighter from day one, September 30, 1926. In early childhood, you were afflicted with polio and spent a year at Shriners hospital. Yet, you survived and graduated from Ogden High in 1945. You married Arlow M. Fenstermaker in 1953. You raised five children, Gary, Scottie, Judy, Brent, and Honey Bee. When we were growing up, you never missed a football or basketball game. You were always there for us. When I needed braces, you sat for an hour each night with my head in your lap pushing my teeth until they were straight. Who does that? You did. Your closest friends were Mormons and you made a point to tell us their religion didnt matter. They taught you to drink coffee and how to sew impeccably. We were the best dressed kids in school. Boy, I took for granted those tailored pajamas. And by the way, who gets tailored pajamas as a kid? Ive never met anyone who read so much. I cant imagine a world without you. You were the perfect example of unconditional love. You often made us laugh. I think sometimes you were taken too seriously. You taught us how to play golf, all about social etiquette, and gave us all the nice things, not offered to you as a child. Thank you for all the fun we had hitting balls at Golf City, playing at Round Valley, going to Sundance and being part of the Riverside family. Thank you for the love of golf that you instilled in us. You were an amazing golfer and instructor. To the Matriarch of five children, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren: You lived, loved, laughed, gossiped, sewed, cared, and gave your heart to anyone you ever loved. You meant the world to us. I love you for everything. Billy, Betsy, and Peggy she loved you all. Aunt Flo, she loved you more than golf! Jonnie is proceeded in death by her loving husband Arlow M. Fenstermaker, her infant son Scottie Fenstermaker, her infant grandson Mckade Benchley, and her grandson Courtney Joseph Florence. At Jonnies request, her ashes are being interred with her beloved Arlow. There will be a celebration of their lives on May 1, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Leavitts Mortuary in Ogden, Utah.
