Our loving, jokester father, grandpa and brother who lit up our lives, passed away on September 12, 2021, surrounded by his children, brothers, and sisters who loved him dearly. Our dad, Papa, was born August 13, 1954, in Michoacán, Mexico to Ricardo and Herminia Coria.
Papa met, Gail M. Coria, his panfila, the love of his life, at a dance and claimed her as his Queen. They were soon married on October 4, 1975 and started their family.
Words cannot describe this man. For anyone that ever knew our dad, from a lifelong friend to a stranger in the store, knew he was such a light. His loving energy was unmatched. It didn’t matter if you were a baby or a little viejita. He loved with the same intensity. Perfect strangers felt the love he always had to offer.
Papa was a family man and loved spending time with his kids, grandkids, and family. His family was his priority. Caring for all our needs. Papa was a selfless man, always willing to help anyone in need and expected nothing in return. He loved quality time and gave it to everyone. Time, that’s exactly how he spelled love. If you knew him, you loved him and if you didn’t know him you missed out.
Papa enjoyed having his family over to hang out, play together, do pushup challenges, play card games, have dance offs, eat good food and don’t forget his postre. He loved to feel the music and let his body go, whether in the car driving for coffee or at home in his living room/dance floor.
He enjoyed hiking, running, working out and playing soccer with his brothers.
Our father will be cherished forever. His love, his kind heart and his fun Spanglish words brought joy to all of us. Our hearts will forever have a very special place for our dad, Papa.
Papa is survived his children, Crystal Coria, Catrina and Hanuar Fernandez, Junior and Jackie Coria, his grandchildren, Cesar Lowrance, Rayna Williams, Juliessa Fernandez, Edgar Jimenez, Julian, Jazlyn, Jaybree Coria, Ulises Fernandez, his great grandchild Adriel Jimenez, his brothers and sisters, Humberto/Lorraine Coria, Jose/Ana Coria, Hector/Laura Coria, Maria Saucedo, Analilia Coria and Chato/Lonetta Coria.
Papa is preceded in death by his wife Gail M. Coria, his daughter, Dede, his parents Ricardo and Herminia Coria, his siblings Romelia and Ricardo Coria.
