Jose Ernesto Abrego "Pollo"

On December 19th, 2024, he Reunited with his Apa and his big Oso, his hunting/fishing partner, his son. Jose passed peacefully surrounded by his family and loved ones. Jose was born July 24th, 1970 in Zacapu Michoacán MX, to Rosa and Enrique Abrego but grew up in the City he loved of Ogden UT where he would later meet His wife Michelle "Cota" and they later on had three children who they raised in Roy UT, Monique (his Hija) Laundo "Big Oso" and Monte(his boo boo) Jose later on in life would take on his favorite roll of being a grandpa to his two critters Cash Jae (cactus Cash) and Cain James(Zilla, Cain Lee).

Jose graduated from Ogden High School, Class of 88'. Jose went to work at Futura Industries from 1990-1997, he then went on to work for Nutraceutical, now known as Better Being Co. from 1998- present. Jose loved his job and all his coworkers who he called his friends.

Jose loved adventure, growing up he raced BMX bikes, he also loved to snowboard with his friends but what he loved most was being in the mountains fishing and hunting which he created many memories with those he loved.

Jose also raised and raced pigeons since he was a young boy. He was registered with the Ogden Racing Pigeon Club as J-Loft. Jose loved to capture his love of nature and adventure with photography, he often would submit his photos to the local newspaper, and they would publish them.

He was an Avid fan of the Detroit Lions who he always rooted for no matter what! He was also a huge fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Notre Dame.

Jose loved all his family and friends, he had the most genuine love, he truly cared about what was going on with everyone. Jose had many lifelong friends who were his homies, more like family, which were and are still a huge part of his life. He was always so proud of all of his family and the things they had going on. Jose and his brother Victor had a special bond, especially being less than a year apart. They loved racing bikes together and spending one on one time with each other while running around the streets of Ogden.

Jose "pollo" truly had the most joyous personality and cared about everyone. At any given moment you could bet he was on the phone, catching up with someone or simply just checking in. He loved being at home, sitting on his back porch listening to music, being with his family and just enjoying the simple things in life.

Another thing that Jose enjoyed was cars, especially low riders and going to car shows, supporting his homies and their love for their low riders. He had a 1976 Cutlass Supreme that he restored over the years.

Jose was a collector and loved going to yard sales. Whether it be antiques, family heirlooms or a gift he kept, he displayed it all and he could tell you about each and every one that he had. He took pride in his things, his family and loved talking about them with everyone.

Jose is survived by his wife Michelle Abrego, children Monique (Angelo) Mendez, Monte Abrego and two grandchildren Cash and Cain, Ama Rosa Abrego, brother Victor (Julie) Abrego, mother-in-law Inez Cota (Nezzie), Nieces, nephews and many loved ones.

He's preceded in death by his Apa Enrique Abrego, son Laundo "Big Oso" Abrego, nephew Lil Victor Abrego, papa Ruben Orozco, Mama Carmen Orozco, father-in-law Nick Cota and Uncle James Larose and his lifelong parrot Pique.

Jose was a true light to be around, and he is forever going to be missed by many, especially by his Cota, Hija, his son-in-law Angelo, Boo Boo and the critters. We want to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support you have shown during this devastating time.
