Jose H. Martinez, 78, passed away May 22, 2013 at his home. Jose was born April 22, 1935 to Benino B. Martinez and Lugardita Alires in New Mexico. On Feb. 29, 1964 he married Crestina G. Medina. A Colorado native he enjoyed the great outdoors. He moved to Ogden in 1979 with his family where he began working for UTA until retirement. Jose enjoyed spending time with his family, doing puzzles, working on the yard and having coffee daily at McDonalds. He was a devoted Christian who enjoyed reading his Bible. He is survived by sons, Michael (Geraldine) Martinez, Walter (Annette) Martinez; daughter, Charlene Martinez; sister, Jean (Joe) Baca; 10 grand children and 13 great grand children. Preceded in death by his wife; parents; brothers, Henry, Ben; and Sister, Viola Valdez. Funeral Services will be held on Monday May 27, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th St. Ogden. Family will greet friends prior to services from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Graveside Services will be held Tuesday May 28th at 11:00 a.m. at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park.
