Joseph Alan Draper passed away the morning of June 26th with his family and favorite cat "Zipper" by his side. Joe was a man full of love love for the Savior, love for family and friends, and love for all aspects of this earthly life. He was a Forester by profession and watched over the trees, grasses, flowers, and even the weeds! He loved to teach family and friends how to care for this beautiful earth. He spent a great deal of time hiking in Middle Fork with his beloved dogs and anyone else who cared to accompany him. Those who spent enough time walking and hiking with Joe soon learned the Latin genus and species of every plant they passed! Joe was gentle and kind to animals both domestic and wild. Joes collegiate education included attendance at Weber State University, the University of Utah, and Utah State University. After completion of his Masters Degree in Forestry at USU, he married Evelyn Neil Draper on March 5, 1965, and they went on to complete their family with two fantastic daughters London(Trent) and Cortneyand one very special granddaughter, Keaton. Joes father, Roscal LeRoy Draper, was a physician in the Ogden area and his mother Lorna Jenkins Draper was an accomplished pianist and musician. His brother Roy and sister Ann both died prior to Joes death. We shall always love him and all miss him terribly! Funeral services will be held Monday, July 2, 2018, at 2:00 pm at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, UT 84403. Greetings with family and friends will be held on the same date and location from noon until 1:45 pm. Interment in the Ogden City Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Leavitts Mortuary.
