Joseph S. Marchione passed away May 31, 2016 in his home in Liberty, Utah. He was born August 21, 1953 in Norfork, Virginia to Joseph Marchione and Dorothy ODonnell. Joe grew up in Virginia Beach. In 1971 he won the Junior Mens Division of the East Coast Surfing Championship. He competed and won many awards in his life. His love of surfing sent him to live in Cocoa Beach, Florida, the Outer Banks of North Carolina and to the North Shore of Oahu. In 1980 his interests turned to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. He lived in Breckenridge, Colorado and worked as a ski patroller. Joe was a passionate athlete, naturalist, friend and protector of animals. Joe worked as a ski patrolman for Snow Basin ski area for five years and was a rancher in Liberty, Utah. He was also a general contractor and helped to create many fine homes. Joe is survived by his wife, Diana; step-daughters, Jennifer (Vaun) Archibald, Lana Michele Young; father, Joseph, brothers, Tony, Sal, Dean and Ryan; sisters, Sandra, Gina and Maria. Joe had many friends that he kept in contact with all over the world. He is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy; brother, Frank and nephew, Max. A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2016 from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at 2765 East 5100 North, Liberty, Utah.
