On March 12th, 2013, at the age of 92, our little mother, Josephine Branz passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her children. She was born July 12, 1920, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Rodney H. and Dorothy McClure Gibbons, moving to Glendale, California soon afterwards. Mom had a happy and loving childhood with her parents and two older brothers, all of whom adored her their entire lives.Dad had the amazing good fortune of meeting Mom while attending the University of Southern California Dental School in 1938. On June 27, 1939, Mom became Mrs. Louis Michael Branz, and from that day on, they were "one" in all they did for the next 67 years until his passing in 2007. She was truly, his "little blue eyes."After setting up and occasionally assisting Dad at his dental practice, it was Mom who managed their various business ventures allowing Dad the time to devote his full attention to the profession he loved, all the while raising five "very lively" children. Although she was a remarkable business woman, her greatest times, though not the easiest, were spent with us children. She was the peacemaker, the nurse, the teacher, the endless doting caretaker but most of all the sweetest, most loving, giving mother in all the world. Thank you Mom, for all your hugs and kisses, forgiveness, encouragement and endless love.we will try to always make you and Dad proud.Though small in stature, she was bigger and brighter than life, giving all she had to her husband, children, grandchildren, and anyone and everyone. There were no strangers in Moms life. After meeting her with those sparkling eyes and beautiful smile, you were her friend forever. She may be gone from sight, but she will never be gone from the hearts and minds of all who were lucky enough to have known this truly amazing woman.Mom we preceded in death by her husband Louis Michael Branz, her son Steve, grandson "little Steve", parents and two brothers. She is survived by her children John Branz, Vickie (Mike) Maughan, Jodi (Brian) Hoskins and Rod (Julie) Branz, six grandchildren, and six great grandchildren, all of Ogden.A private family service will be held honoring Mom and she will always be remembered for her unconditional love and compassion. No one on earth could have loved us more. She is in the center of our hearts forever.To her Doctors, Physical Therapists and Nurses: Thank You. Your wonderful care allowed us additional precious time with our Mother. She loved you all and worked hard to stay strong.
