Josephine Giovanini Suttlemyre, 90, passed away October 7, 2013 at her home. She was born November 7, 1922 in Ogden, Utah to Joseph and Virginia Francisci Giovanini. She graduated from Ogden High School, class of 1940. Josephine married Larry B. Suttlemyre of South Ogden and was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church. Josephine was board of directors, Weber County Human Services. She was on the Weber County Mental health Advisory Board; board of directors, YCC, Step House; Utah Mental Health Advisory Council and Eagle Lake Golf Association. She was honored and awarded the Community Leader Award, Utah Council of Mental Health, 1993; City of Ogden, Community Connection Outstanding Commitment Award, 1992; YWCA Women of the Year Award, 1986. Josephine is survived by her two daughters, Judy Jackson of British Columbia and Joanne Birge of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two sons, John Suttlemyre of Beverly Hills, California and Jim Suttlemyre of Salt Lake City, Utah. She had nine grandchildren, Paul C. Birge, Jennifer Suttlemyre, Jane McLaughlin, Robert Birge, Melissa Suttlemyre Clouner, Ryan Suttlemyre, Stacy Suttlemyre, Justin Suttlemyre and Jacy Suttlemyre Barker and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a third son, Joseph Suttlemyre of South Ogden. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday October 12, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church, 1100 E 5550 S, Ogden. Inurnment will be at Washington Heights Memorial Park 4500 Washington Blvd, Ogden, Utah following the services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Annes Homeless Shelter, 137 W.
