Judith Jensen's Obituary

Judy Lee Norrington Jensen, 73, passed through the veil peacefully Wednesday, August 2, 2017, after an extended illness at her daughters home in Stansbury Park, Utah, surrounded by her family. She was born November 1, 1943, to Kenneth Young Norrington and Lois Riker Smith in Dorchester, Massachusetts. Judy attended Toms River High School and served as drum majorette. Since being taught by Mormon missionaries in her early twenties, Judy built a legacy of faith for her family. Her testimony and devotion were a guiding light to all. After briefly meeting James Lee Jensen (of Ogden) in New Jersey, they enjoyed a sweet long distance relationship and married in 1967 in the Salt Lake Temple. Her happy places were watching the waves roll on the ocean, hosting Sunday dinner for her family, having her dogs on her lap licking her face (or her ice cream cone), doting on her grandchildren, taking delicious meals to a friend in need, and anything that involved planning, sorting, coordinating, counting or creating. She went out of her way to help and serve. Judy was a loving mother and homemaker. Early in their marriage, she worked to help support their growing family as a secretary and as a manager for various retail ventures. In addition, Judy could be found serving in the LDS church in many positions, namely, YW President, RS President, and Stake YW President. Judy is survived by her sweetheart, Jim, of 50 years, her three children: Debbie (Jay) Wiser, Prescott Valley, Arizona; Tim (Jen) Jensen, South Weber; Sandi (Scott) Peterson, Stansbury Park; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, and her sister, Sandra (Allan) Seip, Forked River, New Jersey. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 5, 2017, at the South Weber Stake Center, 7989 S 2250 E, South Weber, UT. The family will greet friends prior to the funeral service Saturday from 12:30 pm-1:30 pm. Interment at Ogden Cemetery, 1875 Monroe Blvd, Ogden, UT. Arrangements entrusted to Leavitts Mortuary.
