Julie Ann Hawkins returned to the loving arms of her Father in Heaven on September 4, 2016. She was born to Wallace Boyd Jeppesen and Grace Myrl Belliston on April 29, 1952 in Salt Lake, Utah. Raised in Brigham City, she was a graduate of Box Elder High School and later studied some at Weber State University.
She met her husband, Blaine Dee Hawkins, while working as a waitress at the Defense Depot of Ogden and Blaine remembers being drawn to her spunkiness from the very start. They were married on May 7, 1982. Blaine brought a son, Jadon, with him to the family, and together they were blessed with two daughters, Tanya and Shantele.
It was no secret that Julie found her greatest joy in being a wife and mother. She infused so much love into their lives. After a miraculous recovery from sepsis in 2010, every day with her has been a gift and a blessing. She enjoyed any activity she could do alongside Blaine, especially visiting Wendover, gunning for her million dollar jackpot one penny at a time. She celebrated the near wins as much as the actual wins, which speaks immensely of her attitude towards life in general. She always carried a smile and brought laughter wherever she went.
She loved car-rides, looking for deer, campouts, watching her shows, and lunch/shopping dates with her girls. She found so much satisfaction in spending time with her grandchildren, and loved spoiling them with small gifts (which she could hardly wait to give them). She was a person of great faith, belonging to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She bettered the life of everyone she knew and made her home a happy, welcoming place to be.
She is survived by her husband, Blaine; her step-son, Jadon (Michelle) Hawkins; her two daughters, Tanya (Ryan) Stephens, and Shantele Hawkins; her brother, Billy (Mitzi) Jeppesen; and four grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Karen Schmidt and Shaunna Jeppesen.
