June Rose Shafer Carver, 90, of Mesquite, NV, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018, after a brief illness. She was born June 22, 1927, in Brown County, Nashville, IN to James F. Shafer and Alice Hendershot Shafer, the seventh of nine children, all of whom were born at home. She married Marion Jackson Johnson in Ohio in June 1949 but later divorced after raising three children. Surviving are her three children; Teresa Carol Dunning (Robert) Nampa, ID, Doris Elaine Poulsen (Royce) Mesquite, NV, and Larry Kevin Johnson (Rebecca), Bellville, Ohio. She has ten grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has worked in various callings throughout her membership. She married Lawrence J. Bud Carver April 1993 in Ogden. Their vows were solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple on November 14, 2006. June loved the warm sunshine of Mesa, Arizona and later moved to Mesquite, NV to be with her daughter, in her later years. Her favorite career job was as a CNA with IHC Health Care in Ogden, UT. June blessed many with her love of oil painting, reading, gardening and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at 11:00 am at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 - 36th St., Ogden, UT. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 10:45 am prior to the Funeral Service.
