Our Dad and loving husband, Jack Black, passed away the morning of July 31st, after months of failing health. Survived by his wife, Irene; six children: Steve, Tom, Jim, Suzie, Jill & Janeece and twenty grandchildren. He was married in the Los Angeles Temple to his wife and sweetheart of 54 years. They were devoted to each other to the end.
He was the best dad anyone could hope for and an even better Grandpa! He loved being around his children and grandchildren, to serve them, love them and support them in any way he could.
When asked of his greatest accomplishments, he noted his children & grandchildren and his pride for their personal successes. He cherished his memories of being a Scout Master, and was very proud that all of his boys and grandsons of age are Eagle Scouts.
He served an honorable LDS Mission in the Spanish American mission where he learned to speak Spanish fluently, which he used as often as he could. He also served honorably as a Marine and was very patriotic.
We will miss him, but we know he is no longer in pain. We will not be having a funeral, but will be holding a graveside service at Camp Williams, in West Jordan, as per his request.
