IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jutta
Lange
October 5, 1940 – June 3, 2025
Beloved mother, Oma, great grandmother and friend, passed away June 3, 2025, at McKay Dee Hospital, after battling numerous health issues for over 15 years. Her strength and grace were a true testament of how she lived to the last.
She was born Jutta Schmidt on October 5, 1940, in Neumunster, Germany, to Erich and Eliese Schmidt. She was the youngest of 7 children and grew up in World War II and post-war poverty. She would often tell stories of how her family survived during and after the war and how something as simple as an orange was viewed as a precious treat. She entered nursing school at the age of 16 and received her degree as a Registered Nurse.
She married Wolfgang Lange on July 29, 1960, and they immigrated to the United States in 1961 in search of a better life. They were humbly and proudly conferred citizens of the United States in 1974. Together they raised 3 daughters and were blessed with many grandchildren.
Our mom was a nurse for over 60 years. She started out working the floors at the Dee Hospital, worked as an OR Tech at St. Benedict's Hospital/Ogden Regional Hospital, and retired as an Instrument Coordinator after 45 years of service at St. Bens/Ogden Regional.
Her love for people and work were a perfect combination and she made many friends along the way. Her kindness and compassion were her legacy and when anyone would speak of her, that was the thing that was mentioned most. She was always very welcoming and made everyone feel special, touching the lives of everyone who crossed her path. Having grown up in poverty, she made every effort to ensure everyone always had enough. She helped many people along the way and was the type of person who would give her last dollar to anyone in need. Truly the hands and feet of Jesus.
Her daughters took care of her in her later years, and she resided with her youngest daughter Karen for the last 6+ years. Karen went above and beyond in her care for our mother. Her granddaughter Tiffany also helped care for her and learned to do dialysis so she could be comfortable in her own home. Her family was very involved in her life and care.
Faith was important to our mom, and she lived her life loving God and loving people. She relied on God's strength to get her through the many trials she faced with her health. We are confident she is now in the arms of Jesus and rejoicing with family and friends.
She is survived by her 3 daughters, Sue L. Pierson, Evelyne (Lou) Griffin, and Karen Lange, grandchildren Jeremy (Elaine) Warby, Tiffany McGregor, Rex (Jessica) Griffin, Rachael Griffin, Jakob Griffin and Joshua Griffin and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband.
Special thanks to Allen and Ashley from Inspiration Home Health and Lindsay and staff at Fresenius Kidney care."Special thanks to Dr. Mansfield//PA Val Warner for taking her as a patient when no one else would. They were so kind and helpful."
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, June 21st, 2025 at 11am, Calvary Christian Church, 4737 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah, 84067.
