KAREN (HARVEY) ORTIZKarens life journey began August 23rd 1972. Gods grace took her home on August 18, 2012 relieving her of her courageous 3-year battle with cancer. She attended elementary school in Ogden and finished her schooling in Santa Maria, California. She was blessed with a beautiful daughter Chelsea Silva from her first marriage. Karen and Chelsea enjoyed California going to the beach, and yearly passes to Disneyland. She returned to Utah in 2004. Karen enjoyed friends, family, travel and her job in retail management. She married Luis Ortiz on August 21, 2009. On September 21 2009 she was diagnosed with breast cancer and a day later was told she was also pregnant. While pregnant she underwent a mastectomy and chemo treatment. Joshua was born healthy on May 5 2010. She was diagnosed with brain cancer in January 2012. Karen is survived by her husband Luis Ortiz, daughter Chelsea Silva, son Joshua Ortiz, step sons Jeremiah and Jeremy, parents Dave and Betsy Harvey, sister Pamela (Harvey) Rodenhi.
