Karen Homer Waters, 76, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend passed away on November 10, 2018. Karen was born on February 7, 1942 to Don Homer and Grace Nielson in Hawthorne, California. She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy and her son, Matt Vanderhoff and daughter, Valerie Shumway. She is survived by brother Dee Homer and sisters Tonya Schnoor and Vickie King, her son Brett Vanderhoof and daughters Sabrina Kvavle and Kayla Vigil and grandchildren and great grandchildren. Karen loved tocook and opened a restaurant in Ogden with her husband Troy called "Karens Caf". She enjoyed talking with her customers and being a part of rebuilding 25th Street in Ogden. She was a friend to everyone and loved Ogden. She loved to read, paint, and family history. She shared many stories with her family about her ancestors. She will be greatly missed. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 19, 2018 at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th St., Ogden, Utah 84403 at 11:00 a.m. There will be a graveside gathering at the Garland Cemetery following the service for family and friends.
