At this time we announce the loss of Katherine Marie Johnson, beloved mother and grandmother. She passed away peacefully on Nov 2, 2026, at age 77 in Ogden, Utah.

Katherine was born on March 17, 1949, in Midway, Utah, to Charles William and Nancy Ann Besendorfer Johnson. She had one elder brother, Richard Johnson, and two younger sisters, Louise Johnson Web, and Linda Johnson. She then married Anthony Robert Salazar Sr. (later divorced). They had three children; Tammy Salazar Rogel, Heather Salazar Wimmer, and Anthony Salazar Jr.

Katherine grew up in the Midway, Heber area. She loved her small town, and spoke of it often. She attended Wasatch High School in Heber City, and later went on to attend Beauty School. She spent her life helping others. She worked in nursing homes and later daycares. She then went on to serve as a substitute teacher helping kids with special needs for a brief time.

Katherine had a kind heart and a sweet soul. She loved the world around her and loved to take in the beautiful scenery of Midway and Heber. She was the kind of person who would not only stop and smell the flowers, but pick one or two. She also loved listening to her favorite music, reading, drawing, and being around her loved ones.

Katherine was a member of The Church of Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had several callings and loved each one. She cared deeply for her family and loved ones and was always willing to help those in need. Her kids and grandkids meant the world to her. We will always remember her smile and her laugh when she spoke.

Katherine is survived by her daughter Heather (Wallace) Wimmer, of Ogden, her son Anthony Salazar Jr. of Ogden, and her five grandchildren, Alicia, Mariah, Domingo Jr., Xavier Rogel, and Alice Wimmer.

She is preceded in death by her mother and Father Charles and Nancy Johnson, Brother Richard Johnson, her two sisters Louise Johnson Webb, and Linda Johnson, and her eldest daughter Tammy Salazar Rogel.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 13th at 10:00 AM, at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah 84403. A viewing will be held an hour prior, starting at 9:00 AM at the same location. Interment at Aultorest Memorial Park.
