Kathleen M. Benedict, 75, our most caring and loving mother, wife, and grandmother, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on October 9, 2017, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Kathy was born March 10, 1942, to Ruth and Eldred Peterson in Brigham City, Utah. She graduated Ogden High School. Kathy married Stanley Benedict on January 28, 1966, in Ogden, Utah. She was an accomplished artist who shared her talents freely. She loved camping, decorating for holidays, and spending all the time she could with her grandchildren. Mom, you will be sorely missed but never forgotten. We all love you so much. Special thanks to all who have prayed for her and to all who took care of her at the end, family, friends, nursed and especially her son Chris. Kathy is survived by her husband, Stan; her children, Tina (Wayne), Jenny (Eric), Lisa (Matt), and Chris; seven grandchildren; her sisters, Diane and Nancy; and her brothers, Steve and Dave. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Andrew, Jerry and Stan; her sister, Pat; and her parents, Ruth and Eldred. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1100 East 5550 South, South Ogden, Utah, at 10:00 am. A viewing will be held at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah, on Friday, October 13, 2017, at 6:00 pm with a rosary at 8:00 pm. Arrangements under the direction of Leavitts Mortuary. Interment at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park.
