Kathryn Grange Decaria (96) beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, born August 18, 1920 to Joseph and Edna Newton Grange at her grandmothers Ogden home, was taken February 6, 2017 to a wonderful Heavenly reunion with family and friends. Primarily a homemaker, she worked at the Defense Depot Ogden, and the Union Train Station (seeing many famous people come and go). Later, she was a telephone operator and census worker. She graduated from Ogden High School in 1938 with the first graduating class in the new building on Harrison. She also attended Weber State College. She enjoyed art, traveling, bowling, photography (a long-time member of the Ogden Camera Club) and family. She also enjoyed membership in the Utah Daughters of the Pioneers, a local Christmas Club, and the League of Utah Writers. Her favorite saying was "I will always be a Democrat and a Mormon," and she was active in both. Kathryn was always very giving and loving. She always offered visitors something to eat at her table. For many years she took care of her ailing husband, Frank Joseph Decaria. Kathryn is survived by five sons, Frank (Joyce), Phillip (Maryanne), Joe (Margaret), Ken (Peg) and John (Jill); 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, and her sister, Afton Anderson. She is preceded in death by her husband, infant twin daughters, Theresa Kay and Kathy Assuntina and five siblings. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 11:00 am at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah. Family will greet friends prior to services from 9:45 to 10:45 am.
