Frances "Kay" Child Shipley, 84, passed away peacefully at home on July 11, 2024. Kay was born in Ogden, Utah on May 29th, 1940, to George Austin Child and Frances May Pebley (later Frances Barlow).

Kay met the love of her life, Kenton "Kent" Wayne Shipley and they were later married on June 3, 1961, in Riverdale, UT. The happy couple shared many memorable years together camping, traveling, raising their children, and spoiling their grandchildren. Kay and Kent were loving parents to Shelly Kim Shipley, Kenton Wayne Shipley Jr., Wayne George Shipley, David "Dale" Shipley, and Jason Jon Shipley.

Kay was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings. All who knew her knew how much she enjoyed spending time with her family, crafting, doll making, shopping, and decorating her home.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Kent, her sons Kenton Jr. and Dale, and her brother, Russell (Betzy) Child.

She is survived by her sister Janet (Glen) Thompson, brothers Dale (Genevive) Child and Bill (Lois) Child; children, Shelly, Wayne, and Jason; her grandchildren, Samantha, Seth, Colton, and Jakob; and great-grandchild, Wren.

Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, July 16th, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Leavitt's Mortuary & Aultorest Memorial Park 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah.

The pallbearers for the service will include Shelly (daughter), Jason (son), Samantha (granddaughter), Rina (niece), Colton (grandson), Seth (grandson), Jakob (grandson), and Lance (family friend).
