Kay Gaddie Wooden 1938-2014 Kay Gaddie Wooden passed from this life after a valiant battle on August 7, 2014. She was born on April 13, 1938 to Malcom and Venna Gaddie in Garland, Utah. Kay lived most of her childhood in Logan, Utah. She graduated from Utah State University with a major in English and French. It was there that she met Ronald Wooden. They married on September 30, 1960, in Logan, Utah. Kay began her teaching career in 1962. She spent the majority of her teaching years at Ben Lomond High School teaching French and English. Kay retired from the Ogden School District in 1987 after twenty-seven years of service. She resumed teaching the same year part-time at St. Joseph High School from 1987 to 2002. She was loved dearly by her students. Stories and memories of her teaching years are often shared by former students. Kay loved to travel. She led several tours with students to France, her favorite country. Kay was an avid Francophile and had mastered the French language. She also accompanied her husband Ron on several music tours throughout Europe. She was admired for her elegance, poise, beauty, and spirit. She is survived by her husband Ron, her two sons Michael (Theresa) and Brad, her two sisters Mary (Quentin) and Dorothy (Craig), her brother Malcolm (Tina), and her six grandchildren. Grandma, we love you and will miss you! Memorial Services will be held Friday, August 15 at 11:00 AM at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street in Ogden, UT.
