Keith Roy Gavin, died peacefully at home, as he wanted, at the age of 81, of heart failure, on December 22, 2011.Keith was born in Ruth Nevada on October 15, 1930, the son of William Irvin and Veda Rose Gavin. He was raised and attended schools in the Ogden area. He served his country in the US Navy. He married Charlene Richards in 1949.Keith was employed at DDO for 38 years. After retirement he worked security at McKay Dee Hospital for 10 years. Keith loved life, being busy, reading, traveling, fishing, camping, yard work, gardening, sharing his harvest with friends and family. He was a willing helper when there was a need to get a job done. His pride and joy was his family. Keith leaves behind his wife, son Douglas, Daughter, Sandra, grandchildren; Daniel and Belinda, 4 great grandchildren, sister Jean Kempinger, brother Jay (Donna) Gavin, many nieces and nephews that he dearly loved and always enjoyed their company. Keith was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. The family expresses appreciation to Dr. Jeffery Call, Dr. Grant Holland, their nurses, staff and healthcare professionals at Mc Kay Dee Hospital for many years of loving care. A memorial service will be held Thursday December 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden. Family will greet friends one hour prior also at the mortuary.
