Kelly James Wanczyk of Ogden died unexpectedly on May 16, 2016, at the age of 41. Kelly was born June 28, 1974 in Ogden, Utah, to Jim Wanczyk & Sharon Jaseph Wanczyk. Kelly attended Ogden City schools and graduated from Ogden High School in 1992. He enjoyed many sports but loved baseball and was a threat each time he stepped up to the plate. Kelly was an avid bowler and achieved many accomplishments in the bowling world. Kelly attended Utah State University. He had many jobs throughout his adult life, and previously was the owner and operator of PRO TOW towing. Kelly ran a party bus operation The Beat Bus and enjoyed the many different people he met. Kelly is survived by his parents; Jim Wanczyk (Ogden), and Sharon & Greg Goetz (Maryland). His siblings, Deanna Schaeppi (Maryland), Stacey (or Becky as Kelly called her) & David Mortensen (Nevada), and Jeff Wanczyk (Florida). His children Myles (17), Brynlee (14), and Oaklee (9) and their mother, Treasure Wanczyk, and several nieces and nephews. On June 22, 1996, Kelly married Treasure McMullin in the Salt Lake Temple. They later divorced in 2012 but remained great friends and stayed strong as a family unit. On May 14, 1999 they welcomed their first child, a son, Myles Krew. On May 6, 2002, they welcomed their first daughter, Brynlee Sienna, and March 31, 2007, they welcome their daughter, Oaklee Rae (known as Coco). Kelly loved rock crawling and razor riding in Moab, camping in the mountains, and hunting for deer and elk. A favorite family tradition was spending summer weeks at Blue Water at Bear Lake. Kelly was a devoted father and supported his children in all of their activities, Myles with Lacrosse, and Brynlee and Oaklee in dance, and school and church activities. One of Kellys favorite hobbies was cooking and grilling. He loved to gather friends and family and he would always make enough food to feed an army. He was always very generous and gave to others when he could. Kelly had a witty personality and made everyone he came into contact with laugh. He was so kindhearted and always told jokes to keep a gathering lively. Kellys life philosophy was to live life on the lighter side of things. Kelly gave nicknames to those around him and he was known as K-Whop, K-Dub and Pro Tow. Kelly was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many callings and fulfilled assignments when asked. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 21st at 11:00 am at the LDS Ogden, Utah West Stake Center 2200 S. 4300 W. A viewing will be held Friday, May 20th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and Saturday, May 21st from 9:45 am to 10:45 am at the Stake Center.
