Kenneth Wayne Charlesworth Sr.On 29 April 2012, Kenneth Wayne Charlesworth returned to his Heavenly Father; after a lengthy battle with Cancer. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ken was born on 2 September 1930 in Ogden, Utah to Ambrose and Frances Charlesworth. He graduated from Ogden High School in 1948. He graduated from Weber State College where he lettered in Tennis. He proudly served in the Navy from 1952-1955. He was a veteran of the Korean War and proudly served aboard the USS Manchester CL-83. Ken married Carol Child. They were married 57 years. He was employed with The Bon Marche, Great Salt Lake Minerals and Chemicals Corporation, and eventually retired from the IRS. He encouraged young people in transportation careers while teaching evening classes at Weber State College. He was Utahs 1981 Transportation Person of the year. He enjoyed coaching the youth softball and basketball teams in his ward. His hobbies included wood carving, softball, painting, golfing, bowling and watching sports.Ken loved his family and his many friends very much and enjoyed spending time with them. He was preceded in death by his son Steven Dee Charlesworth, his parents, and his seven brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife Carol, and his 3 children: sons, Ken (KC) Charlesworth Jr (wife Jenny), Jeff Charlesworth (wife Katherine), daughter Monique Barszcz, 15 Grandchildren, and 9 Great Grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at the Kanesville Stake Center, 4555 West 4000 South, West Haven. Family will visit with friends on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, and prior to services on Thursday from 1:00-1:45 p.m. at the Stake Center.
