IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kenneth H.
Coy
October 21, 1961 – May 24, 2025
Kenneth Coy Sr., 63, a devoted husband, father, papa, and friend to many, passed away
unexpectedly on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at his home in Hooper, Utah. His warmth,
wisdom, and humor will be deeply missed. Dad was born on October 21, 1961, in Ogden,
Utah to Clyde and Fae Coy, who instilled in him the values of hard work, integrity, and
family.
He worked on the family farm from a young age, where he learned the value of dedication
and resilience. He had a deep love for the outdoors and a strong sense of adventure.
Whether he was riding motorcycles, four-wheelers, camping, or spending hours with his BB
gun as a kid, he found joy in the open air and the thrill of movement — and boy, did he love
his 1969 Torino.
He met the love of his life, Penny, during those early years. They were married on May 26th,
1982. Their 43-year marriage was filled with love, laughter, and the joy of raising their
children together.
Dad loved his children and grandchildren deeply, and there was nothing he wouldn't do for
them. He especially enjoyed taking his grandkids for rides on his mule, letting them tag
along on his riding lawn mower, and teaching them how to ride a four-wheeler. He rarely
missed a soccer game or any event they were part of — he showed up with pride and a big
smile. He was, without a doubt, the best Papa ever.
Dad loved unconditionally and fiercely. He cherished being loved for exactly who he was
and found true joy in being surrounded by those who loved him and whom he loved in
return. That deep, mutual love was what mattered most to him.
He also shared a special bond with Mama's siblings. He welcomed them into his home and
heart without hesitation. He appreciated their presence, their company, and the unique
relationships they built together over the years. His love for them was genuine and
unwavering, and he was grateful for the laughter, support, and companionship they brought
into his life. Their time together was filled with mutual respect, care, and a deep sense of
family.
Dad worked in maintenance for over 40 years, with positions at places like the Davis Burn
Plant, Poly Excel, and repairing railroad cars. He had a true gift for fixing things and took
pride in getting anything back up and running — whether it was a machine, a motor, or
something around the house.
In recent months, he was able to retire — at least in spirit — and spent his time doing what
he loved most: being with his princess/honey. He cherished those final four months, taking
care of Mama, watching her rest, and enjoying his favorite TV show, Walker, Texas Ranger.
Every moment of that time together meant the world to him.
Dad went home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whom he and Mama loved so
deeply. As a Christian, Dad always believed there is a better place waiting for us beyond the
clouds. He lived by the belief that we are called to love big and forgive even bigger.
He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his playful spirit, and the unwavering love
he gave to his family and friends.
Dad is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Penny; his children Jessica (Adam), Kenneth Jr. (Tasha), Josh (Jessi), Jennifer (Rick),15 grandchildren, sister Marilyn (Lloyd), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many other family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by both of his parents, Clyde and Fae, brother Richard, sister-inlaw
Lila, and mother-in-law Julie.
