IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kenneth Francis
Debry
June 9, 1949 – May 9, 2025
Kenneth Francis DeBry passed away May 9th, 2025 in Ogden, UT at the age of 75 from a heart attack.
Ken was born June 9th, 1949 in Salt Lake City, Utah to William James DeBry and Helen (Schaar) DeBry. The family later moved to Ogden, Utah into a little house that is just across the street from the cemetery plot where Ken will be laid to rest. The family later moved again to Brigham City, Utah.
He graduated from Box Elder High School. After high school Ken joined the Army National Guard/Reserves. After Ken returned home from the Army he attended and graduated from Weber State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. He was also a member of the Delta Sigma Pi Fraternity.
In the fall of 1977 Ken went to work for the I.R.S. in Salt Lake City. Then in 1983 he went to work for the government "Defense Contract Audit Agency". Ken was instrumental in identifying and helping to win a $500 million dollar fraud case for the government along with other cases. He retired from government work in 1998. Ken then went on to start a new career as a private Luxury Travel Agent. In August 2011 he was named as the World's Highest selling Travel Agent. He was quite proud of that.
Ken had several hobbies. He loved music from the 1950's and 60's. His favorites would include Elvis, the Beatles and the Mama's and the Papa's. He was passionate in acquiring all the stereo equipment to ensure that the music he played sounded the best possible. Ken also dedicated many, many hours and finances into restoring the childhood family 1959 Cadillac. It has been his pride and joy. He took it to many vintage car shows and drove it in many vintage car parades. Ken has loved gardening and has always kept his lawn and flowers looking beautiful. Spending time making sure his shrubbery was always perfectly shaped. Ken enjoyed taking photos for family at get togethers, weddings etc. He was very generous in sharing this talent with others. In his earlier years Ken loved putting together and flying jumbo size model airplanes with his older brother David. They spent so many wonderful times together enjoying this shared hobby. He also liked target shooting, checking out old cars and just building and fixing things. He will be dearly missed.
He enjoyed spending the last 11 or so years of his life in a wonderful, kind and friendly neighborhood. He had many friends there. We so appreciate those friendships.
