Kevin Lee
Edwards
October 29, 1954 – May 29, 2026
Leavitt's Mortuary & Aultorest Memorial Park
5:00 - 7:00 pm (Mountain time)
Kevin Edwards had a unique way of making everyone around him feel listened to and loved. He passed away peacefully after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia on May 29, 2026, surrounded by the family he spent his whole life loving. He was 71 years old.
Born on October 29th, 1954, in Williston, North Dakota, Kevin grew up in Casper, Wyoming one of five children. While short in stature, Kevin carried himself as a leader, both at home and in the community. Kevin graduated from Kelly Walsh High School in 1972, and after serving as the assistant athletic trainer for two years at Casper Community College, he then attended Weber State University earning a degree in Criminal Justice in 1976. Kevin loved athletics throughout his life and would often attend Weber State, Ogden Raptors, high school games and sporting events where his family participated. Any and all who knew Kevin were well aware of his love for the Las Vegas Raiders, dating back to the 70’s.
Kevin married Kandee Butters, they later divorced. Two beautiful daughters came from their marriage, Jennifer and Michelle. While working for the Clearfield Police Department he met Marci Wright, whom he described as his soulmate. They married in 1998 and together had a beautiful daughter Emma. Kevin then adopted Marci’s son, Ashton, in 1999.
Always in the service of others, Kevin worked in law enforcement for more than 40 years. His relationships forged through public service became more akin to family than friends. Later in his life Kevin would become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and gave countless hours of service helping his neighbors and lifting others. Kevin and Marci were sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan LDS temple in February 2013.
Kevin is survived by his loving wife Marci Edwards; his wonderful children Michelle (Michael) Howard, Jennifer (Skyler) Wallace, Ashton (Seanna) Edwards and Emma (Joshua) Mott; and twelve beautiful grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn and Horace.
Anyone who knew Kevin will remember his love of cutting grass, banana bread on Sundays, Fleetwood Mac, but most of all the love he shared with his family and friends.
An open-house Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 18, from 5-7 PM at Leavitt’s Mortuary & Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden. All who loved Kevin are welcome.
Kevin lived a life of quiet devotion - to his badge, his faith, his family and anyone lucky enough to call him friend. We look forward to seeing him again someday.
The family would like to thank Dr. Caitlin Clark and everyone with Refined Hospice for their loving care of Kevin.
In lieu of flowers, please hold your loved ones tight.
