Khenh "Kenny" Rath, 48, passed away October 10, 2012 of an invasive infection stemming from a year long battle with gastric cancer. He left this earth peacefully with his wife and close family by his side at the University of Utah Hospital. He was an extremely hard worker and was employed by Hurco Ind. For 20+ years as a saw operator An example of his work ethic was demonstrated when he continued to work while undergoing chemotherapy and radiation and only stopped working when Hurco went out of business. Khenh was a quiet, gentle caring soul and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Specifically his wife, Michelle, of 23 years who was not only the love of his life but also the light of it. "I will love you always and forever despite my broken heart I know your legacy will help me carry on" Forever yours, Michelle. He loved fishing, camping, betting and winning in Wendover, and football. In fact, during football season he spent his time off in Wendover where he was quite successful betting on the games. Words cannot express the level of kindness and generosity Khenh displayed while taking care of his wife, family, extended family, adopted family etc. He never hesitated to help those in need and did so very, very frequently. Khenhs wife and family would like to express our gratitude to the staff of U of U Hospital burn Unit during the final hours of his life. Khenh is survived by his wife, sister, May Rath, sisters in law: Crystal and Cassie Ricketts and brothers in law Brock and Brandon Ricketts. As well as many nieces and nephews who loved him very much. He was preceded in death by both parents, both parents in law, and one brother in law.
