Kim Caroline Perkins, 63, passed away September 17, 2022. She was born September 9, 1959 to William and LaRene Perkins in Sumter, South Carolina. Kim graduated from Moon Valley High School.
Kim was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. All who knew her can attest that while she had many accomplishments, the pride and joy of her life were her daughter Missy and granddaughter Juliet. Kim spent her whole life loving on Missy and giving her as many experiences as she could. When it came to learning to roller blade, Missy wasn’t going to have to do it alone. Kim got herself a pair and didn’t even make it past the next house before her feet flew out from under her and she was on her back like a turtle. If she wasn’t embarrassed enough, friends drove by at that moment and stopped to ask if she was ok. Despite the spill she got up and continued to skate with Missy because being a part of her life brought the best joy! As she got older and Missy moved around for the Air Force, she’d sit on the couch with a diet coke playing candy crush and wait for Missy’s daily call. She was often teased by family that she’s the only person who could figure out how to burn water. It stems from the fact that she somehow managed to ruin instant mashed potatoes…but she could grill a mean steak! Kim was always up for a good laugh, and you had to be careful because she could outwit you any day of the week. She was always caring for others in the most selfless manner and leaves behind a legacy of love.
Kim was preceded in death by her parents William and LaRene Perkins, and her sister Tandi Johnson.
She leaves behind her daughter Melissa (Adam) Robinson; her granddaughter Juliet; her niece Amanda Johnson; her nephew Zachary Johnson and his son William Johnson.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2022 from 9:00 – 10:30 am at Leavitt’s Mortuary, 836 36th Street Ogden Utah. A graveside service at Leavitt’s will follow at 11:00 am. Kim wanted this to be a celebration so we will honor her with an open house/party from 12:30 – 4:30 pm at 4441 S. 4300 W. West Haven, Utah.
Kim was adamant that we celebrate her life, so the family kindly requests that you wear no black to any event. She wanted those who celebrated her to do so in bright colors and with smiles on their faces!
For those wishing to donate flowers, Kim would’ve loved bright colors for her send off!
