LaRene Perkins, 80, passed away peacefully at her home October 31, 2018, surrounded by family. She was born February 20, 1938, to Roland and Orella Taylor in Ogden, Utah. She graduated from Ogden High School. LaRene married William T. Perkins on January 25, 1957, in Ogden, Utah. LaRene was a loving daughter, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was adored by her family and friends for her selfless giving to those in need, her contagious laugh, and unwavering devotion to family. She never let anything stand in the way of her passion for life and love of family. During a Disney family trip, she did not allow a beach visit to deter from missing out on time with family. So, she allowed family members to struggle pushing her in an over-sized wheelchair through the sand, laughing the whole way, just so she could watch her great-grandson see the ocean for the first time. She was the glue that held the family together. To many, she was known as Nana and could always be seen laughing with, crying with, teaching and guiding her family and those around her. The world has lost an amazing light and heaven has gained an angel. LaRene was preceded in death by her husband William Perkins, daughter Tandi Johnson, grandson Joshua Johnson, brother Max Taylor and sister Carol Taylor. She leaves behind her daughter Kim Perkins, grandchildren Melissa (Adam) Robinson, Amanda Graham, and Zachary Johnson, two great-grandchildren, William Johnson and Juliet Robinson, and her brother Earl Taylor. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, from 6:00 8:00 pm at Leavitts Mortuary, 836, 36th Street, Ogden, UT and Thursday, November 8, 2018, from 1:00 1:45 pm at LDS Church 5900 South, 3100 West, Roy, UT. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 pm. Interment at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden, UT.
