Larry (Lawrence) DeHartClinton - Larry DeHart, 90 passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 14, 1922, in Ogden, Utah, to John (JC) and Janna Kranendonk DeHart. He was the seventh of 12 children in their large family.Larry married Joyce Nelson DeHart on June 25, 1948, in Bloomington, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple. They later divorced. Larry grew up in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School. In 1942, he joined the U.S. Navy and served in the Pacific Theater during World War II, also serving in the Naval Reserves. After the War, he and a brother owned and operated a laundry in Ogden; he then worked for the Union Pacific Railroad; and then worked at Hill AF Base, retiring in 1982.Larry was a founding member of the motorcycle Klunker Klub of Ogden; he was an active member of the Eagles for many years; he also enjoyed working with the Boys Scouts, with his two sons who both earned their Eagle Scout Awards.He enjoyed traveling and took his family on many fun vacations, sharing his love of travel with them. While in his 70s, he made a "grand tour" of the perimeter of the United States in his motorhome. Larry loved his family deeply and was the happiest when we were all together.He is survived by his five children: Lorrie (Jim) Armitage; Teri (Craig) Hughes; Robyn (Brent) Talbot; Taber (Tammy Sue) DeHart; Shane DeHart; 30 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers: Ray DeHart, Dale (Dorothy) DeHart as well as sister-in-laws Dorothy Nelson and Edith DeHart.The family wishes to thank Burchcreek Homecare Hospice for their kind care of our father and grandfather.
