Larry Dean Maccarthy, 68, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 19, 2014 He was born October 24, 1945 to Delbert and Marene Maccarthy. He was raised in Ogden and attended Ogden High. On July 10, 1982 he married Laurie Wells in Elko, Nevada. They had three beautiful children together. Larry was a master tile setter. After retiring, he spent his time either on his motorcycle or with his family and friends. He had a one-of-a-kind personality that put a smile on the faces of anyone he saw. Surviving are his three children; Megan (Matt) Ross, Washington Terrace; Lacey (Jason) Cox, Roy; and Mitchell Maccarthy, Washington Terrace; his brother Dennis "Mac" (Carolen) Maccarthy, Roy; and his sister Lynette (Roy) Dow, South Ogden. Also surviving are his three grandsons and one granddaughter that he adored. He was preceded in death by his wife, Laurie and his parents. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 -36th St., Ogden, UT. There will be a visitation from 9:45 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Friends may also visit with family on Monday, March 24, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Leavitts Mortuary. Casual dress or your favorite Harley shirt preferred.
