Mabel Laverne Rich Naylor February 9, 1934 - February 16, 2015 "Together Again" Mabel Laverne Rich Naylor passed February 16, 2015. She was born February 9, 1934 in Cowdrey, Colorado to Clayton Rich Jr. and Margaret Thorne. Upon receiving her teaching degree from Ottawa University, she taught in England, Eugene, Oregon, and Lakewood, Colorado. She married Floyd L. Naylor and moved to Ogden, Utah where she took on the task of helping to raise four young children. Laverne taught at Pingree Elementary, Marlon Elementary and T. O. Smith Elementary; retiring from Ogden City Schools after forty years of service. Laverne enjoyed stamp and coin collecting and was a knitter of beautiful blankets. She was a wonderful holiday tree decorator and a great dog owner. She also enjoyed rock collecting and had a talent of using those rocks for beautiful flower gardens. Laverne will always be remembered as a kind, loving woman, wife, mother and grandmother to her family. Surviving are her brother John and his wife Donna Rich; stepchildren Scott and his wife Isabel Naylor, Kathryn and her husband Ben Reyna, Wendy Om, Susan and her husband Brad Colvell; 13 grandchldren, 21 great grand children and one great grand daughter due in June. Preceding Laverne were her parents, brother Clayton Rich and her husband Floyd Naylor. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Susan Colvell for her many years of service to Laverne. She was her guardian angel. Also special thanks to the staff of Mountain Ridge Assisted Living and A Step Forward Hospice for their compassionate and diligent care. A gathering for friends and family will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Leavitts Waterfall Reception Area, 836 - 36th St., Ogden.
