Lea Mae Neibauer

Lea Mae Neibauer, 82, of Farr West, UT passed away at home on July 6, 2022, after a long battle with COPD and heart issues.

Lea was born in Townsend, MT to Rudy and Doris Menghini on May 24, 1940. She graduated from Great Falls High School in 1958.  She worked for several years in the banking industry, working her way from a teller to a senior loan officer.  She then worked for several years as an auditor for the Department of Defense.  After living life and raising her kids, she earned an Associate’s Degree in Business Management while working fulltime in Southern California.

Lea married Don Martin in 1958 in Great Falls and went on to have three children: Terry, Randy, and Dawn. Lea and Don divorced and Lea eventually met and married Walter Neibauer in 1982.

In 2004, after working and living for several years near the Southern California beaches, Lea retired, settled in the Ogden area to be closer to her family and spent much of her free time traveling between their homes in Utah and Gold Canyon, AZ, and throughout the west. She enjoyed camping, hiking and exploring new places, especially the mountains and the beaches, and would often go traveling on a moment’s notice. She instilled the love for adventure, exploration and the outdoors in all of us. She deeply loved all of her family and enjoyed sharing in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren, whether it be sports, academics, or other accomplishments.

Lea was preceded in death by her parents, Rudy (1987) and Doris (1996) and her beloved Chihuahua, Ellie.

She is survived by her husband, Walter, and their dog, Bebe, Lea’s three children, Terry Martin, Randy Martin (Nancy), and Dawn Armstrong (Bob).  She is also survived by five grandchildren: Chalon Wilson (Mark), Ryan Martin, Garrett Martin, Cody Armstrong, and Megan Martin; two step-grandchildren (Marshall, Jessica), and great grandchildren (Rowan, Wyatt, Taysom, and Hunter).  Lea also was dearly loved and always supported by her siblings, Dennis (Sherrie) Menghini, Merle (Norma) Menghini, Barbara (Chris – deceased) Milodragovich, Larry (Patty) Menghini and many, many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.

Cremation is planned and a remembrance service will be held at Westwood Village Clubhouse, located at 1111 N.  2000 W.  Farr West, UT 84404 on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, 6:00-8:00 PM.

Over the years, Lea supported numerous charity organizations, especially those involving U.S. veterans, such as The Wounded Warrior Project.  As such, in lieu of flowers, the family requests paying it forward by making donations to a group or organization that you think Lea would have valued.
