Leah Aglaia PappasLeah Aglaia Pappas passed away on December 15th, 2010. Prior to her death she battled cancer with courage and dignity. She was visited and comforted by many of her friends and family. Leah was born March 23, 1936 in Ogden, Utah to George A. Pappas and Maria Harames Pappas. Leah graduated from Ogden High School and continued her education at the University of Utah and St. Marys of Wasatch where she earned a teaching degree. She taught school at Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. After retiring from teaching she worked for Roy Woosler in the District Attorneys Office in Clark County Nevada. This is where she became interested in politics and worked with Ted Kennedy on his campaign in Washington DC. Leah loved playing the piano and singing and later in her life became a member of a local choir group Wasatch Master Choral. Leah also enjoyed her volunteer work in the Ogden City Courts.Leah is survived by her brother and sisters; George (Margaret) Pappas, Ogden, Utah, Thomas (Darline) Pappas, Ogden, Utah, Madeline Pappas, Murray, Utah and Mary Pappas, Fresno, California, along with nieces and nephews that she loved. Leah is preceded in death by her parents. A private service for family was held at Leavitts Mortuary on December 27, 2010.
