Lee Bud Torman, 81, was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away at home on Saturday, October 5, 2013, of natural causes after several illnesses.
He was born in Ogden, Utah, on December 2, 1931 to Lee and Dorothy Elwood Torman and was one of 10 children.
He married Helen White on September 28, 1951 in Ogden, Utah. In addition to living in Utah, Bud and Helen lived in Wyoming, Florida and Arizona, before returning home to Utah. They also traveled throughout the United States in their fifth wheel trailer for many years.
Bud had a successful career as a road construction superintendent, but always treasured most the ten years he spent working for the railroad at the beginning of his career. All who knew him, were aware of his love of the great steam engine and learned to love and appreciate the locomotives through him.
Bud was a hard-worker and once he finally retired, his days were filled with creating amazing wood-working projects, many of which enhanced the meticulous yard Bud and Helen maintained in all of their homes.
He is survived by his loving wife Helen; three children, Becky Lanier, Kathy (Chuck Kolb) Torman and Randy Torman; sisters, Helen Shupe; and Bea Arnold; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Charlie, Evelyn, Ralph, Louise, Mary, Betty, and Buddy.
Per Buds request there will be no viewing or services.
Special thanks to Access Hospice for their compassion and care.
