Leland Shurtleff, 71, of Riverdale, Utah passed away on January 3, 2017 of pancreatic cancer surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 23, 1945 in Washington Terrace, Utah to Edmund Lee Shurtleff and Margaret Lillian Ward. He attended Ogden City Schools. Lee worked at the Elks Lodge and the Continental Bakery retiring in 1990. After retiring he worked as a custodian for Weber County School District retiring in 2012. Lees favorite pastime was playing with his grandsons, John Lee, Gavin and Aidan who were the light of his life. Lee was a dad to all his brothers and his two sisters and all of his nieces and nephews. He loved to flirt with all the pretty girls, especially his nurses with Hospice and the nurses at Ogden Regional Radiology. Lees heart was so big he always put every one of us before himself. We cant forget his gift of gab. Lee loved Christmas and always decorated his home to the max! Lee is survived by his wife, Ethel; daughters, Margaret (Ty) Dunn, Amanda (Brandon) Hoffman; sister, Alice (Skip) Stalker; brothers, Ed (Carolyn), George (June), Don (Cheri) Ron Shurtleff; four grandchildren, Neol, John Lee, Gavin and Aidan and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Clyde, Harold and Lawrence, Wallace and Edmond Lewis; sisters, Edith and Cathrine; brother-in-laws, Fred Gallegos and Jimmie Pelton; niece, Georgia and nephew, Troy. A Viewing will be on Friday, January 6, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Leavitts Mortuary. Friends may visit with the family prior to services from 1:00 to 1:45 pm.
