Lenny has gone where the laughn is. He left us on July 13, 2017 due to the complications of a fall. He was born in Portage, Utah on February 6, 1935 to Ora Knudsen Hoskins and Edgar Theodore Hoskins. He and his sister Theora grew up in Portage and he attended Portage Elementary and Middle School. He graduated from Bear River High School and while there played football, basketball, and track. He was elected Homecoming King and held an office in the Boys Association. After graduation and a short adventure in Los Angeles, he returned to Utah and attended Weber College and Utah State University. He played football, basketball and ran track for both schools. While at Weber College he took second place at the Western Regional Conference in high jump. He married Shannon Reyns Hoskins in August of 1960. They were happily married for almost 57 years, and were blessed with a son, Todd Reyns Hoskins. His professional career was in Real Estate. As a Broker he owned his own real estate company with David Mangle, H and M Cottage Realty. He also owned the Country Club Theater for 20 years. Lenny loved people and always loved a good laugh. He was a member of the Pine View Yacht Club in his boating years and could always be found where the laughing was. The family boated for 20 plus years with a group of friends dubbed the Utah Navy by broadcaster Len Allen. Their meanderings were broadcast on KLO radio. Golfing was the favorite activity in later years. He belonged to a Thursday night golf league for close to 40 years and a couples league with Shannon on Monday nights. He was a member of the Ogden Golf and Country Club where he and Shannon played in Twilight Tournaments. He was known to always have a bottle of holy water in his bag. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ora and Theodore Hoskins; sister-in-law, Judi Van Vleet; mother and father-in-law, Ruth Charlesworth and A. William Reyns; and brother-in-law, Leon Conger. Surviving are his wife Shannon; son Todd and his wife Capriece; sister, Theora Conger; sister-in-law, Ruth (Micheal) Ayers; brother-in law, A. William Reyns; sister-in-law, Jan Reyns; brother-in-law, Terry VanVleet; and many loved nieces and nephews. He claimed two step-granddaughters as his own, Cassie and Carly Miller and a great-grandson, Wesley. A Celebration of Life will be held for Leonard at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th St., Ogden on Saturday, July 22 from 4:30 to 6:30 pm with an open microphone starting at 5:30 pm.
