Obituary

Leslie Ann Huenke (Rahrer), beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on June 28, 2026, in Ogden, Utah, after a valiant battle with dementia. She was born on November 12, 1964, in Salem Hospital, New Jersey. Growing up, she resided in Woodstown, New Jersey was a place that would always hold a special part of her heart as her first home.

Growing up, Leslie's world was characterized by journeys and adventure. Each summer, she traveled from New Jersey throughout the West with her family, where she embraced the freedom and joy of horseback riding—a passion that stayed with her throughout her life. She graduated from Woodstown High School in 1982, where she proudly served as a cheerleader and found joy on the local town swim club, Chestnut Run Swim Club, achievements of which she remained deeply proud.

Leslie made the courageous move to Utah in 1991 with her husband Mark, seeking new beginnings in the mountains she came to love. Her life in Utah was filled with varied and meaningful work. Leslie brought her warmth and enthusiasm to Valley Market-Deli, delighted patrons at American Legion as a bartender, and shared her energy behind the scenes at Nordic Valley Ski Resort’s kitchen and Wolf Creek Golf Course’s bar. She was also known for her friendly presence and grace as a hostess at Carlos and Harleys and Harley and Bucks, and took on multiple roles at Powder Mountain as well as Red Cliff Ranch. Across these many roles, Leslie was beloved not only for her humility but also for her genuine care and joy she brought to each place of work.

Outside of her career, Leslie was defined by her passions. She loved skiing down fresh mountain slopes, riding horses, nurturing her vibrant gardens, and being surrounded by flowers. The sparkle of a billiards game, the serenity of a swim, and the companionship of her cherished pets brought her immense satisfaction. Her home was alive with music—from country tunes that reminded her of her roots, to the rhythms of classic rock, a soundtrack to a household filled with laughter and love.

Leslie’s most treasured accomplishment was watching her children grow and thrive. Nothing brought her more fulfillment or pride than her family. She is survived by her caring father Ed, her loving sister Barbara, and her brother Donald, ex-husband Mark, beloved daughter Carlie (Matt) and devoted son Cole. Her mother, Shirley, preceded her in death, and her memory will be forever carried in their hearts.

Leslie was celebrated for her enthusiastic, friendly, and adventurous spirit. Her compassion knew no limits, her sense of humor was infectious, and she approached life with a kind, loving, and passionate heart. She was a true light to all who knew her—a person who found joy in every day and made those around her feel welcome, cherished, and understood. Her door and heart were always open to anyone.

As her family and friends mourn her loss, they hold on to the countless memories and the enduring legacy she leaves behind. Leslie Ann Huenke will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.

A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026 starting at 11:00 A.M. located at Leavitt's Mortuary & Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden.
