Obituary

Leuane Douangdara, a loving father, doting grandfather, and cherished great grandfather, passed away of Lymphoma cancer on November 21, 2023, at the age of 90. Born in Laos on August 18, 1933, Leuane touched the lives of everyone who knew him with his kindness, warmth, and unwavering love.

Leuane's journey began in Laos, where he was born and raised. He grew up in a close-knit community and developed a strong sense of family values. Throughout his life, he cherished his cultural heritage and instilled those same values into his own family. His family moved to the United States in 1979.

One of Leuane's greatest joys in life was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His love for them knew no bounds. He delighted in their laughter and their accomplishments, always beaming with pride at their every achievement. Leuane reveled in creating lasting memories with them that will be treasured forever.

Leuane's remarkable life will forever be cherished by his children: Vieng Phitsnoukanh, Songkam Douangdara, Sanam Douangdara, Samrane Matotek, Hasohane Douangdara, and Samantha Douangdara. Each one of them carries the legacy of their beloved father's unwavering love and tireless dedication to family.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Hieng Douangdara. Leuane's spirit remained strong even after her passing, as he carried her memory in his heart every day.

Leuane also leaves behind a legacy of love in his 16 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Each one of them held a special place in his heart, and their lives have been forever shaped by the love and guidance he showered upon them.

A Viewing to honor Leuane's life will be held on November 25, 2023, from 1PM to 2PM at Leavitts Mortuary in Ogden, Utah. This will be followed by a Funeral Service at 2PM at the same location. The ceremony will be conducted by the monks from the Thai and Laotian temple.

Leuane Douangdara lived a life that was centered around family and love. His kindness and compassion touched countless lives and will continue to inspire kindness in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered as a shining example of what it means to love unconditionally.
