Lillian Lavon Favero's Obituary

Together again with her eternal companion. On December 8, 2017 our loving mom, Lillian LaVon Favero, passed away after a long-fought battle with Alzheimers. She fought a good, hard battle, but it was one she could not win. She reached her 95th birthday the day before, then decided it was time to join her loved ones on the other side. Mother was born on December 7, 1922 in Ogden to Elmer and Ivy Jensen. She graduated from Ogden High School in 1940 and went on to attend Heaps Beauty School graduating in 1941. She had a beauty shop built in her home and did hair for 60 years or until she was 80 years old. She married Bud Favero on October 25, 1941; their vows were later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. They were married for 65 years until he passed away in September 2006. She has resided in Ogden her whole life. She and Bud moved to Taylor where they raised their five children. She was an active member of the LDS faith all her life. She served in the Primary for 25 years, in the Relief Society as Work Director and taught at the Deaf and Blind Primary for 10 years. She was also active in the community serving as a 4H instructor for cooking, sewing and woodworking. She loved her time as a Jr. Posse Leader where she led the Flying W Jr. Posse for nine years. She and Bud where members of the Weber County Sheriffs Posse for over 50 years during which time she must have cooked over one million hamburgers for the horse sales, Weber County Fair, and Wasatch Cutter Racing Association. Mom loved to bake. She made breads and jelly rolls for wedding centers for many years. Her favorite was making pies for her family, friends and neighbors. She also loved to sew. She made all the girls clothes while they were growing up. She quilted many beautiful quilts for her children and grandchildren. Her children and spouses are: Vickie (Jerry) Moyes of Arizona, Carol (Gary) Hadley of Taylor, JaNae (Mike) Mc Cormick of Marriott-Slaterville, Elaine (Blaine) Bingham of Hooper and Buddy (Laura) Favero from Taylor. She had 21 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Secola for the years of service she gave mom while caring for her so she could stay at home. We also wish to express our thanks to Lisa, Troy, Beonca, Sherry and Carole for the love and compassion they provided mom while she was at Peach Tree as well as the staff.
