Linda Eloise Martinez, 58, peacefully passed away at her home surrounded by her family and friends. Linda was born in Ogden and raised in Roy by Joe and Helen Salazar. She is survived by: her father Joe; husband Jeffrey; daughters Melissa and Krista Ann, grandchildren Hailey and Michael; siblings Leroy (Maki), Don (Janet), Joe (Tami) and Tim. Her besties Kate and Debbie. A few of her favorite things were: musicals, ghost stories, flower gardening, chai tea lattes, reading and listening to podcasts. She spent as much time as possible with her grandchildren, taking her dogs on long walks and making sure her dad always had plenty of green chile. Her greatest passion was Montessori Education. She graduated from the Montessori Education Center of the Rockies, Boulder, Colorado, in Early Childhood Development. She taught at Anchorage Montessori, Anchorage, Alaska and Ogden Valley Montessori, Eden, Utah. She founded and directed her own school, The Childrens House Montessori Preschool in Pleasant View, Utah. Her love was the education of her kiddos. She was affectionately known as the child whisperer. We hope a part of her lives on in every child she educated. Linda was a lover of all animals especially her pet dogs, who were part of the family and were by her side to the end. To honor her wishes, her ashes will be spread over the ocean where she spent countless hours watching the Beluga Whales swimming in the Turnagain Arm at her favorite place on earth, Beluga Point in Alaska. She is preceded in death by her mom, Helen Salazar. Her smile, laughter and love will be deeply missed by all. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah, on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., remembrance program 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service on Thursday, August 3, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at St. Marys Catholic Church, 4050 S. 3900 W. West Haven, Utah. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to the American Cancer Society.
