Lloyd C Coleman's Obituary

Lloyd Christian Coleman passed away at his home December 9th, 2016. He was born February 17th, 1937 to Albert Jay Coleman and Francis Ellen Moosman in Boulder, Utah. Lloyd graduated from Richfield High School. He married Sarah Ann Wrigley October 24th, 1957. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War with the 101st Airborne Division. After the Army, Lloyd worked as a special agent for the Ogden Union Railway Depot, as Head of Security at Max Factor, and at both Standard Brand and Kwal Howell Paints before retiring. He was a longtime member of the Utah Sheriffs Association. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. Lloyd loved spending time with friends and family and in the outdoors of southern Utah and at his property on Sourdough Wilderness Ranch. He was a gentle soul who loved animals and owned several dogs that he was very fond of. Lloyd enjoyed feeding birds in his back yard and taking care of stray animals. Lloyd is survived by his wife of 59 years, two sons Wes and Charles, one brother Gordon Coleman, one sister Thelma Christensen, one sister-in-law Norma Coleman, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Lloyd is preceded in death by daughters LaWanna and Judy Ann, parents Albert and Francis Coleman, brothers Otto Jay, Elroy, and Milton; sisters Vonda, Mildred, Iola, and Sarah Jean. A casual family gathering and rendering of military honors will be held Wednesday December 14th at 2:00 PM at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah. The family requests that no flowers be delivered. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society.
