Lloyd N. Dubois's Obituary

My wonderful loving Daddy, Lloyd N. DuBois, 93, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2015 in the home of his daughter, surrounded by his family. Daddy was born on June 10, 1922 in his grandparents home near Erath, Louisiana. He grew up in Erath and St. Martinville, Louisiana. After high school graduation, he enlisted and served his country in the Army Air Corps (AAC) in Labrador, Iceland. Daddy met mom, Lois Wilson, who also served as Womens Army Air Corp. (WAAC). They met at an Army dance, fell in love and married. After serving in the military, he and mom moved to Utah to live close to moms family. They arrived in Utah in 1946. They had three children, Nick DuBois (Karen Tafoya), Michelle Dodson and Teena (Steve) Hartmann. Daddy always lived in Utah but travelled the U.S. working as an outdoor billboard salesman. Dad attended Weber State College, but his education/knowledge was through life experiences and reading. Dad always knew the answer to any question I ever had and I will miss him deeply. Daddy has four grandchildren, Shaun (Jandi) Dodson, Jamey (Amy) Dodson, Kellie Crandall and Nicole DuBois, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Daddy is preceded in death by his wife, Lois Wilson; son, Nick DuBois; parents, Eve and Aurelie DuBois; sister, Lola Bourque; and brother, Minos DuBois. Daddy loved life and all the wonderful things in it. He laughed a lot, we travelled together numerous times. He has visited almost every state in the U.S. and knows something interesting about each one. Daddy loved to build and repair things. He was also a great painter. Dad would look at something he was interested in making and sit down and draw the plans. Dad had lots of common sense which helped with all things. Dads fun personality was one reason he had great friends. A special thanks to Elaine, Tiffany and Lisa from Applegate Hospice who cared for daddy in his last months.
