IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Llryne
Sowerby
November 19, 1936 – April 14, 2024
I, Llryne Moore Sowerby, age 87, of Ogden, Utah, passed away peacefully with my family by my side on April 14, 2024. I was born on November 19, 1936, in Ogden, UT.
I was raised in Ogden, UT for most of my younger life. My Mother died when I was just a day old so my grandpa and Grandma Moore who brought me home from the hospital raised me the first five years of my life. I grew very close to my grandpa and my big sister Beth and can't wait to see them again. I then lived the rest of my youth with my father and his new family. I had many adventures in my younger years.
I spent the first few years of Junior/High School in Colorado at a Catholic School then came back home and was the first graduating class of Ben Lomond High School where I graduated two years early. Shortly after that I met the love of my life, Tom of 51 years. We raised four beautiful daughters and had many more adventures as a family. I was also a member of the LDS church.
I worked as a Hostess/Cashier in Reno NV for several years where I picked up the nick-name Sam. This was my most favorite job. When I came back to Utah I worked as a lunch lady in several different schools before I retired from that, then moved on to the IRS and retired from there as well.
Some of my hobbies were Crafts with my daughters, Crocheting, Playing games. And I loved going shopping.
I loved my monthly get together's with my daughters and any time I could spend with family and friends. I always enjoyed our family camping trips and family BBQs at my house. I was just happier with my family and friends around me. Later in life, Tom and I loved to walk the Mall with all the friends we made there. My family always called me a little spitfire, so I made sure I kept that reputation up till the very end.
I am survived by my four daughters Colleen Winget (Rick), Debbie Jonas, Tamra Naylor (Eric) and Michelle Sauer (Chris). One brother, Wells Stephensen, 14 grandchildren and many great and great, great grandchildren.
I am Preceded in Death by my husband of 51 years Thomas R. Sowerby (I can't wait to see you too), my parents, Llryne Stephensen. My father Wells Stephensen and stepmother Vivian Stephensen. My best friend and sister Beth Reilly and my sister Elaine Allen.
From your girls, until we meet again Moopy and Doopy. You'll always be in our Hearts.
