Lois Hayes Johnston, 85, died peacefully in her sleep on October 11, 2016. She was born in Georgetown, Idaho on August 20, 1931 to Josephine Taggart Hayes and Joseph Smith Hayes. She grew up in the Ogden area and was a proud graduate of Ogden High, class of 1949. Lois attended as many class reunions as possible and enjoyed reuniting with her friends.
Lois married George Arthur Johnston in 1955 and later divorced. She was an active member of the LDS Church and held many callings.
Lois loved to play the piano and would often share her talent in her LDS ward and with friends.
She worked in the banking industry for many years, first with First Security Bank and then with Zions Bank until she retired in 1996. After her retirement, she was active at the Kearns Senior Center and had many friends and opportunities to volunteer in the community.
Lois is survived by her children, Richard (Sandy) Johnston, West Valley, Gerald (Darla) Johnston, Woods Cross and Barbara (Delbert) Ross, West Jordan. She has 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Shirley Coffman Wright; brother, Joseph Charles Hayes and a great-grandchild, Alexander Ross Nielson.
